Information

sonopulse iii 1 and 3 mhz

The Sonopulse III by Ibramed is a microcontrolled therapeutic ultrasound device designed for physical rehabilitation and aesthetic treatments. It generates sound waves, which are mechanical vibrations transformed into active energy in the tissue in continuous or pulsed mode.

When used in continuous mode, the energy produced by the transducer can generate mild heat, which may be uncomfortable in cases of acute pathologies, even though this type of treatment is highly effective. In pulsed mode, wave pulses are generated with rapid intervals, allowing the blood circulation in the treated area to cool, producing results through the non-thermal effects of the device.

Innovative Design and Features

The new modern design features a graphic display that simplifies protocol and program identification. Its slight inclination allows professionals to adjust it easily, whether standing or sitting.

  • ERA (Effective Radiating Area): 8 cm²
  • Frequencies: 1 MHz or 3 MHz
  • Maximum ultrasound output power: 24W (3 W/cm²)
  • Requires coupling gel
  • Microcontrolled operation, enabling programming via keypad, providing digitized information, and ensuring data reliability.

The Sonopulse III also supports combination therapy, meaning it can be used simultaneously with electrical stimulation of low or medium frequency, enhancing the analgesic effects of the currents while combining the thermal and mechanical effects of ultrasound. This therapy can only be performed with Ibramed devices.

A thermal sensor monitors the device’s temperature and features an automatic shut-off function to prevent damage to the piezoelectric crystal in the transducer and avoid excessive heat discomfort for the patient. When overheating occurs, the device pauses the programmed timer, stops the ultrasound emission, and resumes automatically once the temperature returns to normal.

The Sonopulse III delivers therapeutic effects in a non-invasive way, does not cause dependence, has no side effects, and does not interfere with the patient’s daily routine.

KEY DIFFERENTIALS & BENEFITS

Timer up to 30 minutes – The device automatically shuts off after the set therapy duration, eliminating the need for manual time tracking.

User-friendly – Comes with an illustrated and didactic instruction manual, making navigation and usage easy to understand.

THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS OF ULTRASOUND

  • Chemical Reactions – Vibrations stimulate the tissue to enhance local chemical reactions and processes.
  • Biological ResponsesIncreases cell membrane permeability, facilitating the transfer of fluids and nutrients to tissues and cells (essential for phonophoresis).
  • Mechanical EffectsMicromassage effects enhance cellular metabolism, blood flow, and oxygen supply.
  • Cavitation – Formation of bubbles that expand and contract (stable cavitation) or cause fat cell implosion (unstable cavitation).
  • Thermal EffectsLocal temperature increase, promoting collagen extensibility, making it ideal for treating tendon, ligament, and joint capsule contractions.

INDICATIONS

Physiotherapy (1 MHz) – Treatment of tendinitis, bursitis, myositis, capsulitis, muscle injuries, fractures, and post-surgical recovery.

Aesthetic & Dermatology (3 MHz)Reduction of localized fat, cellulite, post-liposuction, post-abdominoplasty, and fibrosis treatment.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Pregnant women
Over the eyes, heart, reproductive organs, or areas with acute infections
Patients with pacemakers
Tumors or areas exposed to radiotherapy

COMBINATION THERAPY

The Sonopulse III can be used with the Neurodyn II for enhanced results.

Ultrasound (1 MHz) + TENSGreater analgesia
Ultrasound (3 MHz) + Russian CurrentFaster body contouring and fat reduction

SPECIAL CARE & MAINTENANCE

  • Only use compatible accessories
  • Always apply coupling gel
  • Clean the transducer with neutral soap and water
  • Move the transducer in circular motions
  • Do not remove the transducer from the skin while the device is on

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Does the ultrasound need regular calibration?
Yes, calibration is recommended every 6 months or if the transducer is dropped or damaged.

How to check if the transducer is emitting ultrasound?
Place a few drops of water on the transducer’s aluminum surface and increase intensity. If nebulization occurs, the device is functioning.

Why must ultrasound movements be slow and continuous?
To ensure uniform energy distribution and prevent tissue overheating.

What is cavitation?
Cavitation is the formation of microbubbles caused by ultrasound waves, which can be stable or unstable, leading to fat cell breakdown.
